I know you probably know this dessert by the name “Lava Cake,” but I grew up calling it by its French name – Petit Gateau – so that’s how I’ll keep calling it! Also, it sounds more romantic and, therefore, more appropriate for your Valentine’s Day’s romantic dinner, doesn’t it? I don’t know about you, but me and my husband gave up on going out on Valentine’s Day for a while now. The whole stress of getting reservations (so hard in NYC), plus spending an exorbitant amount of money for an okay meal at a restaurant we can afford just doesn’t cut it for me. I prefer to cook something special, light some candles, play some Bossa Nova and surprise my love with a better meal and ambiance. Of course, providing he brings flowers… Otherwise he will get Taco Bell for dinner! 😉
